The Colour Replacement Tool allows the users to alter the existing colour of an image with a new foreground colour. But this tool preserves the tonality of the image and samples the original colours. These colours are then interchanged with the foreground colours.
The Eyedropper tool in Photoshop is used for picking up a sample from a colour within an image. This sample can be used in the future for altering the background or foreground of an image.
When a new file is created in Photoshop, there is only one layer called the background layer that acts as a canvas for artwork. Depending on the system’s memory, a Photoshop document can have up to 100 layers.
The sponge tool in Photoshop is used for intensifying or diminishing the colour of a particular portion of an image. The selected area can be saturated or desaturated as required. By using a cursor the image can be altered until the colour reaches the desired saturation. The tool works in two modes namely saturate and desaturate.
The Sponge tool is commonly used for quickly retouching an image.
The different types of Lasso tools are:
<> Standard Lasso tool
<> Polygonal Lasso Tool
<> Magnetic Lasso Tool
Cut out the selection that you want to make a shadow of. You can cut using Lasso Tools, Pen tool or the Magic Wand tool. Use the shortcut Ctrl + J or Command + J to quickly copy the selection to a new layer. Click on the Layers Style button at the bottom of the Layers panel (it reads fx). Select Drop Shadow from the options. You can choose a color for the shadow by clicking on the black rectangle on the right of the blend mode in the Drop Shadow dialog box. You can also set the “size” to change the softness of the shadow.
You can also do a cast Shadow. In this the shadow is to be in a new layer so to split the shadow from the image, click on the little “f” on the right of the layer. Here you will see a drop down menu, just select “Create Layer”. Now we need to distort the shape. Press Ctrl/Command + T and this will bring up the Transform Bounding box. Right click on the object and select “Distort”. Distort it till it is stretched out but looks similar to the picture. Now let’s add some realism to this shadow. We have to soften and lighter the shadow as it goes further away. You can do this by adding Gaussian Blur. To lighten the shadow, you can use gradients on the shadow. You can also lower the opacity of the shadow to blur it into the background and make it a part of it.
A smart object in Photoshop is a special layer that preserves the original content and configuration of the image. With this, you can create multiple copies of a particular object. If one copy is modified or updated, all other copies will be updated too.
First create a text using the Text tool from the toolbox. After typing the text, you can press the ESC key to open the Transform grids and adjustors around the text. To rotate the text, bring your cursor to the edge of the Transform grid and the cursor will change to a curved two sided arrow. To rotate it by a difference of 45o press and hold the shift key. You can also access the Transform bounding box by pressing Command + T or Ctrl + T.
Click on IMAGE go to MODE and select GRAY SCALE (if the PDF or JPG is black / white), and go back to the LAYER and double click, that will unlocked, if do not, go back to IMAGE and select RGB color and double click, that would do it.
To remove the watermark, you need to first make a selection of the logo or text watermark. This can be done by using tools like the Pen tool, Quick Selection Tool or the Magic Wand Tool. Then expand the selection to also include the background pixels by going to the Select Menu and choosing Modify- > Expand. Expand it by the number of pixels you want. Now use the Content Aware Fill feature from the Edit Menu under the Fill option. If some of the outline is still left, you can use the Clone Stamp Tool to adjust it according to the surroundings. You can also use the Clone Stamp Tool or the Healing Brush tool to take samples and stamp them over the watermark.
To crop an image, use the Crop Tool from the toolbox or use the shortcut “C”. When you click on the crop tool, crop borders are displayed on the edges of the image. You can pull the ends to increase or decrease the size and can also move the image around to position the crop selector. Else you can also draw a new cropping area by yourself.
You can also specify crop options through the Crop Menu bar at the top of the documents. It consists of the Aspect Ratio of the selector, the overlay options and the straighten option and the content aware option. You can choose a preset for the aspect ratio or fill in your values. Overlay options are the guides while cropping. You can choose between the Golden Ratio, Grid, and Triangle among others. The shortcut to go through the options is “O”.
Content Aware Fill is used when you use the Crop tool for straightening or rotating an image and/or expanding your canvas beyond the picture’s original size. When this is done, Photoshop automatically fills in the gaps to match the surroundings. To do so, just click on the content aware fill option in the crop menu before cropping or straightening the image. After cropping, when you click enter to crop the image, Photoshop will fill in the gaps.
You can also use the Perspective Crop tool to transform the perspective in the image. This tool is helpful when the image is taken from an angle and not straight on and you want to straighten the image. There is a distortion in the image, for example, if the image is taken from the top of a building, then the top edges of the building look closer to each other than they should and this type of distortion is known as keystone distortion. To use this tool, all you have to do is draw the endpoints of your crop selector so that the distortion is removed. When you press enter, the image is stretched or compressed to adjust the distortion.
use the lasso tool to carefully select the elements that you want to retain as color - you may even want to feather the selection by a couple of pixels if it looks better. Once you have these selected, invert the selection so that everything except the eyes/lips are selected, then desaturated the layer.
To create a transparent image you need to follows three steps:
<> First go to ‘Select’ option and select the background, and then click on ‘Inverse’. This will select your main picture.
<> Open a new file, select option ‘ Transparent’ under content, and you will have a file with transparent background.
<> Copy your main picture and paste it to new file you created.
To make 3D sphere, select blur from filter menu and click on radial blur. Select spin option in the blur method section, you can increase or decrease the amount of spin by dragging the slider.
Organizing layers in Adobe Photoshop?
1. Layers show an image.
2. To place separate images as multiple layers, the layer option is used.
3. Lock the unused layers while unlocking the layers in use.
4. When there is a need to change two or more layers, unlock the layers.
Rasterizing in Photoshop is a functionality that helps the users to convert the vector layers into pixels. This is useful as when a vector layer is used to create graphics, line and curves are applied. But when the image is enlarged the artistic visual effects cannot be easily embedded.
Thus, rasterizing is used for transforming this vector data to pixel-based data.
Photoshop Lightroom is defined as the photographer software that is designed for them to make the process fast and easy after photography. This photoshop lightroom features key features: the full-screen mode, configurable grid overlays, PNG support, and windows HIDPI support.
The Rectangular Marquee tool is used when there is a need to draw a selection in a square or rectangle shape. It is also referred to as a photoshop selection tool, which draws the shape selection based on simple geometric shapes.
The red-eye tool is used to remove the redness in the eyes. Click on the red area of an eye, with the help of this red-eye tool, and make a correction. If it doesn’t match with pupil size or found too light or dark, then undo the change and change the size accordingly. When the adjustments seem fine for you, do the changes with a red-eye tool to remove a red area of an eye.
The histogram in Photoshop refers to the distribution of tones throughout the images. The left part of the histogram shows the details in shadow, the middle part explains mid-tones, and the right part shows the highlights. It will tell you enough details of the image to make a wise correction. The horizontal line defines the various values in the image. The left part shows the pure black and dark shadows, the right part shows the highlights and pure whites, middle shows the mid-tones and dark tones. The vertical axis tells the corresponding values of the image, whether it is light or dark. The peaks get higher as the high concentrations of that particular value selected.
PSD is referred to as Photoshop document, and PSB is referred to as Photoshop big, and these both are used to store digital images. PSD is mainly the default extension for Photoshop files, and it supports 30K by 30K pixels, which means used to save small or normal images. PSB is an extension used for creating large images. It is mainly used to save the images which are having 300K by 300k pixels. Both are having a very small difference.
You can download Photoshop for free for a trial period of 7 days from Adobe’s website. In these seven days, you will have access to all the features of Photoshop. After that you will have to pay monthly for whichever subscription plan you settle on, unless of course, you cancel. This can be helpful if you want to complete and work on a project right now. If you are worried about the price of Creative Cloud apps (especially the photography related ones), then you don’t need to worry as they are surprisingly cheap if you’re smart about your subscription. You will not be able to download the full copy of Photoshop from anywhere for free. Also any software that is not downloaded from Adobe’s Website may harm your computer.
People working on these areas as a aerospace engineers should have familiarity and exposure to NASTRAN and MATLAB with knowledge on space environment and modeling of flexible dynamics. These aerospace engineers will be responsible to conduct stress analysis on metallic and composite structures. NASTRAN, IDEAD, Oracle and PATRAN proficiency level is required. Their duties also include on aircraft which are metallic and composite structures. This includes and understanding of control surface stiffness and loop calculations, finite element modeling (FEM). fatigue testing requirement and analysis.
Gaussian blur is a tool that blurs the edges of the image to make it more real and adaptive to the surrounding. Often it is believed that Gaussian blur can only blurs the image, but if it is used cleverly it will not blurs the image but enhance the appearance.
On both the Photoshop CS works fine. But on Mac it seems to speed up faster. The startup is much faster than on windows but relative to the velocity of the CS2, it indeed is faster. So yes. photoshop cs3 is better at functioning on an intel mac rater than cs2, due to the faster startup.
To create an artistic border, you must select an image. After that, add a layer mask in a layer pallet then select filter-> brush strokes-> sprayed strokes.
Reduce noise option is helpful to reduce the color and luminance effect in the image. To reduce the noise in an image, you have to go in a menu bar, select a filter menu, and in that you will see an option for NOISE. Again, clicking on it, it will show other option including reducing noise.

The healing tool in Photoshop is used to remove distracting or unwanted elements from an image. Healing tools can be found in the toolbar on the left side of the screen. The icon looks like a Band-Aid. Healing Tool is of different types.
One of them is the Spot Healing Brush Tool. The spot healing tool replaces the area that you have brushed over with the surroundings. Here you don’t have to pick a sample area to replace the details with like in the clone stamp tool. Photoshop itself picks up the details itself to match the surroundings.
Another type is Healing brush tool. This is similar to the clone stamp tool. Only difference is that it doesn’t paint a complete copy of the sample area but paints only the colors of the sampled area and doesn’t affect the Highlights and Shadows of wherever you’re painting.
Patch tool is another type of healing tool. With this tool, you can select a patch of the image and move it around to find another patch to replace it with. The colors and highlights are automatically adjusted according to the surrounding.
A PSD or Photoshop Document is the standard file type that is used when saving a Photoshop project. It can only save projects up to 2GB after which it is unable to save any more information. It can save a max document size of 30,000 x 30,000 pixels and an image of up to 900 megapixels.
A PSB or Photoshop BIG file is also known as the ‘large document format’ file. PSB is only used when you have a large project, or your file is too big to save with a standard PSD file. Generally, PSB files can save projects larger than 2GB while at the same time retaining all the same important file and layer information that you need. A PSB file can save a max document size of 300,000 x 300,000 pixels and an image of up to 9000 megapixels.
The Clone tool or the Clone Stamp tool is used in digital image editing to replace information from one part of a picture with information from another part. It is effective when you want to remove objects or details from an image but don’t want to destroy the image so you use the details of some other part of the image to cover these objects or details. If you want to keep the retouching of the image separate from the original image, you can do the retouching in a separate empty layer.
To use this tool, select it from the toolbar, it looks somewhat like a chess piece. You can also use the shortcut “S”. First you’ll have to define the sample area by pressing and holding the “Alt” key and clicking on the area that you want to copy. Then brush over the area where you want to add the copied detail to cover an object. While you are working, a plus sign following the cursor indicates where the detail is being copied from.
If you wish to work on a new layer for retouching, then create a new layer in the Layers Panel and with the layer selected, select the Lock Position option (Looks like a four-pointed arrow) from the menu. This will ensure that the position of the layer will not change with respect to the image layer and will be aligned. From the Options bar of the Clone Stamp tool (found at the top of the document), set the Sample menu to “Current & Below”. Using this, you will be able to copy details from the underlying layer and place them on the new layer.
Swatch palettes are an arrangement of colours. Colours can be utilized without recalling the numeric colour values from the swatches palettes.
In Photoshop, Layer is known as Smart Objects Layer, that contain image data from raster or vector images, such as photoshop or Illustrator file.
The Lasso Tool is another invaluable tool for making selection.
Process:- A layer shows an image / picture. Multiple layers are used to place separate images / pictures. Place various images in separate layers. Lock the unused layers. Unlock the layer that is in use. When 2 or more layers need to be changed, unlock the layers.
They both are file formats to store digital images. There is very less difference between PSB and PSD, what they differ is how they are stored and used. PSD is a default extension for Photoshop files and it can support the file size of 30,000 by 30,000 pixels. While for creating big documents or large image .psb file format is used, and it can save an image size upto 300,000 by 300,000 pixels.
To sample the color as foreground color, we use the eye-dropper tool. Select the foreground color square, use the paint bucket tool or brush tool for covering the area. You can also use Clone Stamp Tool. Now use the key Alt+ and click where you want the color from and hold down the mouse button to cover up the area.
To unlock the background image, first click on the picture or image and then select MODE option. After that, select the option GRAY SCALE and revert to LAYER. When you double click on the surface, the surface will be unlocked.
A layers shows a picture or image. To organize layers in Photoshop, place various images in separate layers. Lock the unused layers and unlock the layers which are in use. When two or more layers need to be changed, unlock the layers.
In Photoshop CS2 and above, it has a special layer known as Smart Object Layer. Smart objects give freedom to work with multiple copies of a single object. All the multiple copies will be updated simultaneously when single object is updated. Also, changes in the adjustment of layers and layer styles of a single object can be done without affecting the multiple copies. Without any loss in pixel, pixel based objects can be changed several times.

The Photoshop’s work area includes Application Bar, Option Bar, Panel Dock and Tools panel.
Gradients are a great way to introduce eye-catching and flashy graphics in your pages.
To resize the image in Photoshop you have to go into menu bar, under menu bar you will find an option “Image Size”. On clicking that option, it will open a dialog box, by which you can adjust the size of the image.
Transparent background means that besides the actual object, nothing else will be visible in the background. A transparent background gives you the ability to place your saved image against any background without the image obstructing the background. Any logo should always be created with transparent backgrounds so that it can be placed anywhere, regardless of the background color or design.
To create a transparent background, while creating a new document, you get a pop-box which asks for the preset details. Here at the end of all the options and just above the “Advanced options”, you get a box which reads “Background Contents”. Here you can choose transparent instead of white (which is the default setting). If your advanced options tab is not open then the transparent option will not be visible. This will create a document with a transparent background.
If you have already created a new document and want to change the background to transparent then that can also be done. Make sure the “Layers Panel” is open. You can see it on the right side of the window screen. If not then you can open it using the “Windows” tab in the Menu bar and select “Layers” from the drop down menu. Or you can use the shortcut F7.
The background layer by default is locked. To unlock it either click on the small lock icon in front of the background layer in the layer panel or you can also double click on the layer itself. This will open up a pop-up, just click Ok and the background layer is changed to Layer 0. Now you can add a new layer (Layer 1) which by default would be a transparent layer and delete Layer 0. Now you have a Transparent Background.
Resizing an image means to change the dimensions (width, height, resolution) of the image.
To resize an image, click on the Image Tab in the Menu Bar. Go to “Image Size” and click on it. You can also use the shortcut Alt+Ctrl+I. A pop-box will open up with multiple options (width, height, resolution etc.) The “dimensions” at the top of the box tells the size of the original image. The leftmost block gives a preview of the image after resizing.
You can change the width and height parameters and also the measurement unit according to your convenience. To ensure that the proportions of the image are not changed which can result to a stretched out image, make sure the icon (which somewhat looks like an infinity sign) next to the width and height boxes is turned on. If lines are coming out of it and the background behind it is of a darker shade that means that the constraint proportions option is on.
If you do not want to change your original image, make sure to use the “SAVE AS” option to save the file.

Yes we can organize layers..
For example you create a Ball in 1St layer and then in second layer you create the background. But you should lock all the layers and unlock the layer which u r working, because unlocked layers will be active always(active means, if u want to drage the ball, background layers also will be affected)
Put the non printing grid on how you want it, then take a screen capture (alt + PrintScreen on PC) Open a new file, the size should be set as the size of the grab, and paste. Crop away everything (the background of the photoshop window, etc.) except for the image with grid on it... and print.
Gradients are a great way to introduce flashy, eye-catching graphics in your pages.
