Should I attempt 1-40 or 40-1?

The order does not matter. However, it is better to solve question 1 – 40.

The 3 step strategy

Step 1

Briefly go through ALL THE QUESTIONS related to ONE PASSAGE

While you’re reading, mark KEYWORDS

KEYWORDS: These are prominent words that help you with understanding the content in the question

When marking keywords, FOCUS primarily on PROPER NOUNS and NUMBERS

Apart from these, mark any other important word that provides specific details related to the question. 

This step should be done quickly and should take you around 20 – 25 seconds 

 Step 2

Come to the passage

Practice skimming and scanning: the process of reading quickly and marking specific details 

Ideally, focus on proper nouns, numbers, dates, time, and any other prominent detail.

Your target: 6-7 minutes

 Step 3

Come back to the questions 

Take one question at a time and locate the keywords that have been marked. 

Once you have located the keywords of the questions in the passage, read the lines around it
